You are cordially invited to attend the following full day Edexcel subject specific training to be held in Chengdu 20 October 2015.This full day event is designed for new or existing teachers delivering the Pearson International Advanced Level Physics Specifications.

Session 1 : Writing IAL papers

Delegates look at some ‘first draft’ questions and act as Reviser for these questions. As well as suggesting question revisions, delegates consider how to prepare students for different command words in questions; and how mark schemes relate to questions.

Session 2 : Standardisation

Delegates look at some student answers to recent IAL questions, along with the initial mark scheme, and see how well the mark scheme works. A good opportunity to see how mark schemes are developed; and also to look at some ‘specimen marking’ across a range of student abilities.

Session 3 : Awarding

Delegates will follow the process that our senior examiners do when Awarding a question paper, to gain a real understanding of how grade boundaries are set.
